FCCPC: Demand Accountability from FiberOne for Poor Internet and Customer Services
The Issue
This petition is borne out of personal agony and hours wasted due to the unreliable internet service provided by FiberOne. As an individual, I have experienced losses in productivity, increased frustration when trying to get help from customer service, and detrimental effects on my mental state. In addition to this, I have been forced to incur additional costs obtaining an alternative internet service after initially investing in FiberOne. This is not just an isolated issue; numerous customers across the country share similar tales of dissatisfaction and distress.
According to the Nigerian Communications Commission's 2020 third-quarter report, Nigeria is currently battling with a quality of service problem across all telecom services, especially in data services where it records over 48% of poor quality of service. This calls for a change to make sure that the consumer's rights are protected. The FCCPC needs to step in and hold FiberOne accountable for their disappointing services and unresponsive customer care.
FiberOne internet service users deserve reliable connection speeds, affordable pricing, and most importantly, competent and responsive customer service. If no changes are made, we will continue to lose valuable time and face unwarranted expenses and emotional distress.
