I, along with many other Australians, am currently enduring the pain of a long-distance relationship due to slow processing times for resident return visa 155 

Imagine having the love of your life and the father of your kids not being able to live together because you have commitments in Australia. This is our reality.

The current processing time for this visa can take up to two years or more (Department of Home Affairs, Australia). This lengthy period not only strains relationships but also hinders the personal and professional growth of individuals who are unable to settle down due to their uncertain status.

We understand that thorough checks are necessary for national security. However, we believe that there should be a balance between these checks and respecting human rights - in this case, the right to family life. It's essential that we find ways to expedite these processes without compromising on safety measures.

We urge the Department of Home Affairs in Australia to review its procedures and work towards 

processing times for residents return visa 155 applications.
