"I the signatory, respectfully request that the Far North District Council acts to cease Public works to be undertaken by Far North Holdings Ltd under RC2180514 at the township of Opua".

1. The development takes in the most significant part of the Opua Peninsula.
2. There has been no consultation with the community or with affected residents.
3. There is no management plan for the 17 houses once constructed - public land would be lost.
4. The original plan consented has been superseded by ad hoc proposals that threaten the safety and well-being of residents of Kellet St and parents and students arriving and exiting Opua School.
5. Alternative proposals for the peninsula have been ignored.
6. The plan seeks to further alter the land and to remove all significant trees - largely old growth Totara that provide shelter and habitat.
