Meet and greets are get togethers that celebrities hold with their fans to get to know them better. Normally, one pays about one hundred dollars for a meet and greet or VIP. What I'm here tell you is that what fans are paying for is not a "meet and greet." What they pay for is a quick "hello," a hug, and a picture. Meet and greets have become so rushed and short that the idol may not even get a chance to learn the fans name. Some meet and greets are good with giving the fans time with their idols, but most are not. Most have pushy security guards that rush fans into and out of meet and greets. They push them around and then snatch them away from their idol. Meet and greets tend to not be very pleasing to people either; some end up with poorly taken pictures, some are pushed and hurt by security guards, and some can't even speak to their idol before being pulled away.  This is not okay.

Meet and greets need to be a chance for fans to really connect with their idols since they are the ones supporting them, voting for them in online votes, buying their merchandise and songs, and so much more. Fans are what keep the idol in fame, and it's time that the fans truly meet their idols and are able to have a real conversation with them. This new ability to actually have a conversation would make the fans and the idol have a stronger bond, which would lead to growth of the fandom, and therefore expanding the idol's domain.

What fans are asking for is not ten minutes with their idols. Even they know that's too much. All they are asking for is at least a minute to talk to their idol and connect.
