By Monday night, when the Save Anthony's Restaurant Petition was presented to the Falls Church City Council at its October 22, 1,011 people had signed the petition in person, and 666 had signed online. We thank all of you, who have shown such sincere and enthusiastic support. The turnout has been most positively overwhelming. City Council members listened closely, with Council member Tater calling Anthony Yanarakis to the podium and asking him the extent of his desire to continue to stay in Falls Church. Mr. Yanarakis gace a heartfelt, explainingthat he loves the City and the only way he would want to leave it would be in a casket. While the Council seemed noncommittal, questions and comments by the Mayor and Council members Tater, Peppe, Kaylin, and Duncan reflected some interest, while Ms. Barry was silent, and Mr. Snyder was confrontational in expressing his dislike for the barrage of email received through change.org. Thank you for your tremendous support; it could be needed again!
