Fair Conduct Procedures for All at Royal Mail

Fair Conduct Procedures for All at Royal Mail
The Issue
Frontline workers who were key workers throughout the pandemic are having their livelihoods taken away from from them on a daily basis by the unfairness and impartiality of Royal Mail conduct processes. Long unblemished service is routinely held against these workers. Their lives as well as their families are being devastated by these not fit for purpose practices. It seems the rhetoric right from the start of any conduct process is to dismiss the worker for gross misconduct. They are then able to summary dismiss the worker meaning there is no notice period. The harshest of punishments. Their investigations heavily favour management with witnesses for the victim ignored, called mistaken or even liars. For this practice to be allowed to continue it has to be condoned by the Royal Mail hierarchy.
These practices must stop if the morale of the workforce is to improve. The company is going through a very difficult period and needs for the workforce to be on board in order help lift the company out of these doldrums. A happy workforce is a more productive workforce.
At a time when the power of unions is being dramatically depleted by the government then they are duty bound to ensure companies treat their staff fairly.
We have a new King and despite Royal Mail being a private company, it’s his name over the door. I’m sure he would like to de reassured all workers employed under his name are being treated fairly.
Action now will help reduce the number of lives being devastated by this unfairness for all employees not just employees of Royal Mail.
Please consider signing this petition to help all employees who find themselves falling foul of workplace unfairness. There needs to be a totally independent and prompt process for all workers who find themselves in this position.
