Darryn Clarke, 43, attacked an innocent 55 year old man with a samurai sword. He cut the victim in the neck and shoulder to the bone.  The victim, who has asked to remain anonymous, still suffers facial drooping and a speech impediment as a result of the injuries. He has ringing in his ears, cannot fully lift his arm and has issues with the severed tendons in his hand. He can no longer work in the profession he has dedicated his adult life to.

Today (03 October 2023), Darryn Clarke was sentenced to HOME DETENTION for this crime. The victims life has been completely ruined. Darryn Clarke has got off almost scott-free. I've had a gutsful of this rubbish in NZ.  What we tolerate we condone and as Kiwis we all need to make a stand and let our authorities know this isn't acceptable. This is not the NZ I want and I'm confident it's not the NZ we all expect. This could have been your Dad, brother or uncle.
