Make Facebook's Pronoun Setting Inclusive

The Issue

Yesterday, I realized that I had not added my pronouns on Facebook, using the setting in the bio section. When I went to add them, what I found was bothersome: a pronoun can only be added if you select a gender of "Custom," and only ONE pronoun can be added -- "she," "he," or "they."

To be inclusive of all identities, Facebook must allow any pronouns to be associated with any identity. There should be an option for the pronouns of individuals' choice to be typed in, not a dropdown of options, and anyone should be able to specify more than one pronoun.

Furthermore, an inclusive culture includes cisgender individuals sharing their pronouns. By only have a pronoun option when a "Custom" gender is selected, inclusivity is being shirked by Facebook.

It is essential that the pronoun option on Facebook be added for all gender identities, and that it is an open-ended question. Please sign the petition to help make this happen!
