Most of the Hong kong's traditional media is being controlled by the PRC, politically and economically (banning ads on certain papers), and social media became one of the very important platform for the people to express their thought. Social Media like facebook, apart from making their numbers, they should be responsible to certain issues for the community too. And if social media also line up with the PRC, then we people in Hong Kong will got no ways to SPEAK UP ! Thus it is VERY IMPORTANT.
