friends, opossums supporters, wildlife and animal rescuers, rehabbers, and advocates, this act of extreme violence has been brought to my attention.

A individual by the name of , a freshman in high school, a football player… (number … where this horrific act of extreme violence against a wild animal took place.

I have the video in which he is seen and identified by his peers… this young man pours gasoline onto a alive wild opossum, while laughing with his friends… ignites the poor animal, the flames grow larger… while the opossum is suffering a terrible painful death, they continue to joke. This video was shared to Instagram and Snapchat. 

I do not live in this state, however I am going to find out (hopefully with your help) whom I need to get this video to, in front of… having absolutely no respect for wildlife, animals in general … but to go to this extreme… is skin crawling and evil. This person is a threat society, the next victim eventually will be a human. How this little coward sleeps at night, and continues to live his life is just a clear indication of how emotionally twisted he really is.
Do you want this person sitting next to your child at school ? You want this person playing sports with your children ? I personally wouldn’t want this person near me, or anyone I cared about… especially my animals, or children. 
This person needs to be in a facility. Immediately.
Animals are innocent, they fall victim to so much abuse and neglect, why should they suffer ?

The police claim charges have been filed; however this child is allowed to go to school, allowed to play sports like nothing ever happened. There’s no record of any charges. Opossum advocates and I have reached out to his school, we are met within very rude  school staff, stating that if we would like to speak to do so in person - and that this boy has had no punishment from the school. It’s business as usual. 

This child’s mother is chalking this behavior up to “acting out” from the recent loss of his adoptive father… I lost my father very early on. I did not set animals on fire. If I did, my mother would absolutely send me to get some mental health help. Hurting animals is a stepping stone to much more serious issues. It is a matter of time before he hurts another animal, another classmate, a girlfriend/boyfriend - a family member. This boy needs to be punished and he needs proper mental counseling. Animal abuse isn’t a joke. If you adopt a child - be a real parent - especially if you’re doing it alone. I can’t imagine a pastor condoning such behavior. 

Sign this petition. Hold the school accountable, send his mother a wake up call. This is not a joke. 
Hurting animals is a serious offense. He burned a innocent animal alive… while laughing, as that opossums body broke down in hot flames…if you don’t find that disturbing, maybe you need a petition as well.
