Extend the Certificate Requirement for XL Bully Breeds Until Age 2

As an owner of an XL Bully, I am deeply concerned about the current regulations that do not differentiate between breeds and their unique needs. My personal experience, along with countless others', has shown me that it is not the breed but rather the owners who shape a dog's behavior and health.

Neutering a dog too early can lead to potential health problems including orthopedic issues and several forms of cancer. This is particularly true for larger breeds like XL Bullies, who require more time to fully mature compared to smaller breeds. According to research conducted by UC Davis Veterinary Medicine, neutering dogs before one year of age significantly increases their risk of developing joint disorders (Torres de la Riva et al., 2013).

With this in mind, we are calling on regulatory bodies to extend the certificate requirement for XL bully breeds until they have reached the age of two years old. This change would allow these dogs sufficient time to mature before undergoing such procedures thereby reducing their risk of developing serious health conditions.

We believe this is a fair request that acknowledges both our love for our pets and our commitment towards ensuring their wellbeing. Please join us in advocating for this change; sign this petition today!
