Extend Target lunch break to 1 hour

Extend Target lunch break to 1 hour
The Issue
Working at Target has its rewards, but when it comes to our lunch break, 30 minutes simply doesn't cut it. Personally, I often find myself rushing against the clock, barely having any time to eat. On days when I forget to bring food, which happens quite often given my forgetful nature, I end up spending most of that half-hour either purchasing something or rushing home to grab a quick snack. The little time that's left is hardly enough to eat peacefully, let alone digest properly. Eating in such a hurry leaves me feeling unwell and anxious for the rest of my shift. Sometimes I just don’t eat to avoid that stress.
A longer lunch break isn't just a personal desire; it addresses a much larger issue of employee well-being and productivity. According to studies, longer breaks lead to better digestion, improved mental clarity, and heightened work efficiency. When employees are given enough time to eat and rest, they return to their tasks more focused and energized. This can only benefit Target's overall performance and customer satisfaction.
Other major corporations have already recognized the value of extended breaks and have adjusted their policies accordingly. By offering a 1-hour lunch break, Target has the opportunity to position itself as a leading employer who values and prioritizes employee health and well-being.
Let's urge Target's management to consider extending the lunch break from 30 minutes to 1 hour. This change will not only benefit employees but also foster a more efficient and happy workplace. Please join me in signing this petition to advocate for a healthier, more balanced work environment at Target.
