Hello SkyTrain supporters!

There are now nearly 6,000 of you coming together in a call for better rapid transit. We're sure that many of you are aware but one of our biggest opportunities to make SkyTrain a reality in Surrey and Langley is coming up on October 20th. That's when Surrey and Langley will hold municipal elections!

In the last few weeks we witnessed the product of our work over the years to raise this as an issue: multiple candidates in both Surrey and Langley have taken a position in favour of extending SkyTrain and many of them are also against the street-level LRT proposal! Furthermore, a number of commentators have said that this has become the "defining issue" of the elections in Surrey!

But, our work doesn't stop there! With the elections campaign underway, there is work to do to make sure that our message is seen and heard, loud and clear, throughout the community in advance of the votes starting on October 6th (advanced polls) and through to October 20th.

In order to facilitate this, SkyTrain for Surrey has registered with Elections BC as a third party advertiser under the local elections campaign financing act (LECFA). We recently unveiled our first large "Vote for SkyTrain" signs at two locations, and we are preparing many more to be distributed and installed throughout the community!

These signs would not have been possible without your help. Recently we launched our donations page at https://skytrainforsurrey.org/donate to collect funds that will support our efforts. We would appreciate assistance in the form of monetary donations or provision of tools and supplies such as power drills/ impact drivers, wood screws, refillable portable compressed air tanks (for pneumatic staple guns).

Your assistance will help us create more signage and pay additional costs to get out there and get them installed. They will also help us fund online advertisements, video content, and other forms of community outreach.
