Extend pool hours for Plantation Landing

The Issue

We, the undersigned residents of Plantation Landing, respectfully request that the HOA extend the pool hours to 9:00pm, instead of the current closing time of 8:00pm. We believe that this change will benefit the community in several ways, such as:

  • Providing more opportunities for recreation and exercise for the residents, especially those who work late or have busy schedules. Swimming is a great way to stay fit and healthy, as it works out the whole body and improves cardiovascular and respiratory health. Swimming can also reduce stress and improve mood, as it releases endorphins and relaxes the muscles. However, many residents are unable to enjoy the benefits of swimming, because the pool closes too early for them. Some residents work late or have busy schedules, and they cannot make it to the pool before 8:00pm. Others may have family or personal obligations that prevent them from using the pool during the day. By extending the pool hours to 9:00pm, the HOA would allow more residents to access the pool and improve their physical and mental well-being.
  • Enhancing the social and family life of the community, by allowing more time for gatherings and events at the pool. The pool is a great place for residents to meet and interact with their neighbors, and to foster a sense of community and belonging. The pool is also a great place for families to spend quality time together, and to bond with their children and relatives. However, the current pool hours limit the time that residents can socialize and have fun at the pool. Some residents may not be able to join their friends or family at the pool, because they have other commitments or obligations. Others may feel rushed or pressured to leave the pool, because they must abide by the closing time. By extending the pool hours to 9:00pm, the HOA would allow more residents to enjoy the pool and the company of their loved ones, and to create lasting memories and friendships.
  • Increasing the value and attractiveness of the community, by offering a more flexible and convenient amenity for the residents and potential buyers. The pool is one of the most appealing and desirable amenities that the community offers, and it can influence the decision of potential buyers and renters. The pool can also affect the satisfaction and retention of the current residents, and their willingness to recommend the community to others. However, the current pool hours may deter some people from choosing or staying in the community as they may prefer a community that has more flexible and convenient pool hours, and that caters to their needs and preferences. By extending the pool hours to 9:00pm, the HOA would increase the value and attractiveness of the community and make it more competitive and appealing in the market.
  • Preventing conflict among neighbors who have different views toward the closing time and its enforcement. Some residents enjoy using the pool after 8:00pm, especially during the summer months when the weather is hot, and the sun is still shining. These residents are usually respectful and do not cause any disturbance or damage to the pool area. However, some other residents are unhappy with this practice, as they believe it violates the rules and sets a bad precedent. Most of the complaints made publicly are about residents being at the pool past the posted hours, not about any specific noise or nuisance.

By extending the pool hours to 9:00pm, we can accommodate the preferences of more residents and foster a more peaceful and respectful environment. We believe this is a reasonable and fair compromise that would benefit everyone and urge management to consider implementing this change effective immediately.
