Extend ACPS Thanksgiving break
The Issue
In Alexandria City Public Schools, the Thanksgiving break is only 3 days, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Why are Monday and Tuesday excluded? There is no point in those days. The only thing they do is split up the weekend from Thanksgiving break. If Monday and Tuesday were added to Thanksgiving break, it would link together another weekend to Thanksgiving break.
Without these two days being a holiday, students and teachers will have to work two out of five days of the week. Thanksgiving is a major holiday, and teachers and students should be able to have that whole week off to spend time with friends and family.
