Expose the Underhanded Practices of eDreams Travel Agency

eDreams, also known by its other brands Odigeo, GO Voyages, Opodo, Travellink, and Liligo, is an international company that is supposedly based in Europe. One search of reviews online will uncover the countless VICTIMS this company has claimed over the years and are continuing to victimize. 

With the use of underhanded and shady business practices, they steal money from its customers and clients. While they are an international company, it is especially difficult in the USA to do anything about these scammers. It is time to take action against this monstrous company. It doesn't matter how large they are--they must be taken down.

I feel like I have to be a little vulnerable and share my personal story to illustrate how exactly eDreams has caused me more than just financial harm. Please note some details are left out to spare you some grief, and also know the airline's hands are tied in this matter, and it was solely eDreams' responsibility to handle my case, which they failed to do.

How has this company affected me personally?

I am a person who has lived with a slew of health conditions, mental and physical, since childhood. I booked my first-ever international flight using eDreams, with zero knowledge on traveling. 

Originally, this flight I booked was made with the intention of laying myself to rest in this foreign country. I had been struggling with my conditions for a very long time, and I wanted to enjoy my dream destination once in my life before passing.

However, it wasn't and isn't my time to go yet. I came clean about my plan to travel with my doctors and they expressed that I should remain at home to continue treatment and not give up.

With a signed medical letter provided to me by my main doctor with whom I was undergoing treatment, I submitted a request to cancel my one-way flight and get a refund.

This is where the nightmare began. The flight was a month away, so for over a month, I battled back and forth with eDreams, who was claiming that they could not make any changes whatsoever, according to the airline's policy. This is a LIE. I had to take it upon myself to speak with the airline to clarify their policy, and I was told multiple times, and it is even clearly written on the airline's website, that cancellations and refunds, even for restricted tickets, are possible for medical reasons. 

From this point, eDreams was jerking me around in a circle, not responding to messages or returning phone calls, blocking me from using the chat feature on their website. There was no resolution. eDreams continually repeated the same lie they told me, that the airline was denying my claim, not them. This is a LIE.. I had to call the airline many times to check if eDreams had even reached out to them about my case, but each time I called, every airline customer service representative told me eDreams had not contacted them. Despite there being solid proof of eDreams failing to follow their own procedures and honor the airline's policy, eDreams chose to continuing lying.

Finally, after pointing out to eDreams at least 3 times that they had not even contacted the airline and CC'ing the airline on the email, eDreams responded and instructed me to submit the medical letter that I already sent them. July 23, 2024 was the last I heard from eDreams. It is now August 1, 2024, and the flight date it only a few days away. The airline still had not received any contact from eDreams by this point.

eDreams has been stalling my case to wait for the flight date to pass to avoid giving me a refund. A cancellation and refund I requested over a month ago, when the flight was still more than 30 days away. I had been agonizing for over a month, experiencing extreme anxiety every time an email came from eDreams, wondering what kind of lie they had spun this time. eDreams was made aware of my health conditions and still chose to torment me like this.

eDreams is absolutely evil. Everyone I spoke with from eDreams so obviously doesn't care about you as a person. Why would they? They are a large company that exists to take your money. My story doesn't even mention how they lock you into a yearly subscription plan and make you jump through hoops and hurdles if you ever even think about canceling the subscription. 

If you have been victimized by eDreams or any of its other companies, and even if you haven't and just want to spread awareness against large corporations robbing and preying on individuals like me, please consider signing this petition.

I am aiming to open a class action lawsuit against eDreams.
