We’ve pushed past 140,000 congressional and media contacts.
That is a massive milestone, and everyone who has chipped in to get us here deserves immense credit.
I recognize burnout when I see it.
Advocacy is not a spectator sport. It’s more than liking a post on social media or adding your name to a petition.
Part of this 72-hour email blitz was to assess burnout in this community. The signs are there. It was also, for my own sanity, a way to figure out whether I’m on here screaming into an echo chamber.
Like you, I have my limits.
I recognize how absolutely insane it is that combat-injured veterans have to organize an email campaign targeting Congress while CC’ing the media just to get any kind of spotlight on the Major Richard Star Act.

I recognize how exhausting it is to hear, year after year, “call and email your representatives.”
For me, it has been three years. For some of you, much longer.
When it feels like those calls and emails have been unfruitful, remember that when you vote.
I have found good people on both sides. There are Republican and Democratic staff members I have stayed connected with who genuinely care.
But the reality is that it often feels like a handful of people in Washington who actually give a damn, plus roughly 54,000 combat-injured veterans, up against billion-dollar organizations and powerful institutions.
TCAVA ripped the veteran community apart.
I believe Rep. Bost and everyone responsible for pushing that approach should be held accountable by voters.
I can’t sugarcoat where we are.
We still have to fight through both the House and the Senate to get the REAL Major Richard Star Act across the finish line.
And with roughly 24 hours remaining in this final media/congressional email push, participation is stalling.
