Expose Japan’s Greenwash: Stop the Ecocide of Sacred Forests and Bears
署名活動の主旨
【Short Summary】
Under the guise of protecting the climate, Japan is clear-cutting ancient, sacred forests for massive wind and solar projects. Bears, driven from their spiritual homes by relentless low-frequency vibrations, are forced to flee into human areas—facing localized extinction in some regions, while being mercilessly slaughtered and turned into commercial resources in others. This is not green energy—it is a brutal violation of the sacred balance of life. Stand with us to end this ecocide.
【Petition Body】
To all citizens of the world who hear the quiet whispers of the Earth and cherish the sacred balance of nature,
In Japan, there is an ancient spiritual understanding that every mountain, every river, and every tree possesses a soul. For millennia, our ancestors lived in deep reverence for the forest, sharing a silent vow of coexistence with the wildlife.
Today, that sacred vow is being shattered. Under the guise of "green energy" and climate action, Japan’s ancient, pristine forests—the very sanctuary of life—are being systematically destroyed by corporate and political profit.
In the sacred mountains of the Kii Peninsula, a critically endangered population of Asiatic black bears—estimated at only around 180 individuals—is facing an existential crisis. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. The shadow of extinction is now looming even larger over Tohoku and Hokkaido—regions once nurtured by abundant nature, where lives have been beautifully sustained for generations. Their ancient, vast forests are being aggressively targeted for massive wind turbines and mega-solar farms, turning their spiritual homes into relentless construction chaos. They are not expanding their numbers. They are fleeing from the collapsing mountains all year round. Their homes are stolen all year round.
When these terrified, displaced animals run into human areas seeking a safe haven, they are branded as "dangerous pests." Recently, in Utsunomiya, a bear spent days simply running for its life, harming no one, only to be mercilessly slaughtered at the end of its panicked flight. While the mainstream media hypes public fear, the root cause—the total, violent destruction of their mountain sanctuaries—is completely left in the dark. There was only the distortion of the media, feeding on terror instead of searching for the truth.
Worse, this has turned into a textbook case of "Greenwashing" and a brutal "Ecocide." The Japanese government is now injecting public funds to build processing facilities to turn these slaughtered, sacred beings into "gibier" (wild meat) for commercial markets. Furthermore, despite this species being listed under CITES Appendix I and classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN, Japan continues to allow the lucrative domestic trade of "Yutan" (bear gallbladders).
To treat an internationally protected, endangered species as a commercial product funded by the state is a grave violation of the spirit of international conservation laws. It is a complete betrayal of the natural world. Yet, international environmental organizations that claim to protect the planet remain silent, walking hand-in-hand with the very administrative authorities driving this destruction.
If the global community remains silent, it sets a dangerous precedent: that any nation can destroy ancient ecosystems and slaughter endangered wildlife, as long as they call it "renewable energy." This is not just a local crisis; it is a direct assault on the living soul of our shared Earth.
We call upon the government of Japan and international conservation bodies to take immediate action:
1. An immediate halt to all large-scale renewable energy developments in critical wildlife habitats and pristine water sources.
2. An end to the state-sponsored commercialization of endangered bear parts and meat, restoring dignity to the lives that have been taken.
3. The implementation of rigorous, independent scientific assessments that recognize increased sightings as a cry for help due to habitat displacement, not population growth.
True harmony cannot be built upon the blood of the innocent. Let us restore the sacred balance and let the bears live in peace. Please sign and share this petition to send a powerful wave of global conscience to Japan.
This is not merely a movement of opposition or conflict. It is a prayer for harmony—a plea to restore the sacred, inviolable boundaries between humanity and wildlife, so that we may once again coexist peacefully upon this Earth.
With deepest gratitude and humility, infused with love for all living souls,
