We, the concerned members of the Hyannis community, are deeply disturbed by the allegations against [REDACTED], a student at Sturgis Public Charter School. It has come to our attention that he allegedly brought a gun onto school property and is also accused of committing a heinous act of sexual assault.

These are allegations. Yet raise serious concerns about the safety and well-being of all students attending Sturgis Public Charter School. We believe that it is imperative for the school administration to take immediate action in order to protect its students from potential harm and ensure a safe learning environment.

While we understand that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, it is crucial for educational institutions to prioritize student safety above all else. There hasn’t been communication about this situation to any parents or students. The presence of an individual who allegedly brought a firearm onto school grounds poses an unacceptable risk to both students and staff alike. We deserve the truth about this. 

Furthermore, sexual assault is an abhorrent crime that can have severe long-term effects on survivors. It is essential for schools to send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated within their community.
