We are a group of Turkish immigrants, currently residing in refugee camps across Sweden. Our lives are in limbo as we wait for the Migration Agency to make decisions on our asylum applications. The uncertainty and the long wait times are taking a toll on us, both mentally and physically.

Sweden has been known for its commitment to human rights and its welcoming stance towards refugees. However, the current situation suggests otherwise. According to statistics from the Swedish Migration Agency, as of 2020 there were around 14,000 pending asylum applications (source: Swedish Migration Agency). This backlog not only affects us but also hampers Sweden's reputation as a champion of human rights.

We understand that each application requires careful consideration to ensure fair treatment. However, we believe that more resources should be allocated to expedite this process without compromising on fairness or thoroughness.

We urge you to consider our plea and take immediate action towards expediting asylum decisions for Turkish immigrants like us who have fled their homeland seeking safety and security in your country.
