As a dedicated band member, I feel underrepresented in the current selection of band instrument emojis available on iPhone. Currently, we only have a trumpet, saxophone, wooden flute and drums. This limited range does not reflect the diversity and richness of musical instruments that exist in bands worldwide.

Music is a universal language that brings people together regardless of their background or nationality. It's estimated that there are over 1,200 different types of musical instruments globally (Source: Oxford Music Online). Yet our digital representation falls drastically short.

The lack of inclusivity in these emojis fails to acknowledge many musicians' identities who play other instruments such as clarinets, trombones or cellos. By expanding this emoji range to include more band and orchestra instruments, we can foster greater inclusivity and representation for all musicians.
