Skateboarding has always been more than just a hobby or sport for me; it's a an escape from everything going on at home or school. The Oxford Skatepark has been a space where I've met incredible people who've inspired me to improve, not just in skateboarding, but in every aspect of my life. It's a place where friendships form, confidence grows, and the local community comes together. But as the popularity of skateboarding continues to rise in Oxford our park faces unprecedented challenges.

With a burgeoning number of skaters of all ages eager to learn and have fun, the current infrastructure of the Oxford Skatepark simply cannot keep up. It's disheartening to see newcomers struggle in a space that, while beloved, is not beginner-friendly.

Oxford's community is fortunate to have such a dedicated skate scene, but without proper facilities, we're at risk of discouraging future skaters. We propose an expansion that caters to skaters of all skill levels. Introduction of more ramps, varied terrain, this would ensure that everyone, from first-timers to seasoned skaters, can safely enjoy and benefit from this vital community.

Investing in an expanded skatepark also makes sense economically and socially. Skateparks attract visitors and boost local businesses.
