Daily, our healthcare professionals dedicate their skills and time towards saving lives and improving public health. Despite this noble work they engage in, a key concern most professionals face is the burden of paying for parking at their place of work. Forcing these essential workers to pay for parking at their places of duty limits their morale and unnecessarily drains them financially. Their contribution to public health is immeasurable and as such, they deserve better conditions. Significantly, according to data from the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), fewer than half of UK hospitals offer free parking to staff. Most doctors and nurses spend an average of £50 monthly on hospital parking. Therefore, we are urging hospitals within the UK to step up and set an example by exempting its healthcare professionals from paying for workplace parking. Supporting this call is not just about lifting a financial burden, but it is a statement of our collective respect and appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices made by our healthcare workers.
