As an eighth grader in a middle school, I am deeply concerned about the participation of students from other grades in our eighth-grade prom. This event is a milestone for us, marking the end of our middle school journey and transition to high school. It's a celebration that should be exclusive to us, the graduating class.

In many schools across the country, it's common practice for only eighth graders to attend their prom.

However, our school is currently allowing all grades to participate in this event meant specifically for eighth graders. This dilutes its significance and can lead to uncomfortable situations due to age differences among attendees.

We believe it's crucial that our school restricts attendance at the eighth-grade prom exclusively to those who are graduating from middle school this year.
