The Issue

WE, THE DUES-PAYING MEMBERS OF AREAA, DESERVE A VOICE

This petition began after AREAA terminated the memberships of Hsiao-Mei Yang and Nicholas Lichwick.

But this is bigger than us. This is about every AREAA member—and your voice.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT OUR CURRENT MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT ALLOWS?

AREAA has broad discretion to terminate membership, including termination “for convenience” with only five days’ written notice.

That should matter to every dues-paying member.

If one member can lose their membership without a clearly defined process to be heard or appeal, any member could face the same situation.

We are not asking you to choose sides.

We are asking you to stand up for your own voice and the rights of every AREAA member.

We respectfully ask AREAA National Leadership to revisit the current membership termination language and establish a fair, transparent process that gives every member notice, an opportunity to be heard, and a meaningful right to appeal.

AREAA stands for advocacy, representation, and giving people a voice.

Our own members deserve that same voice.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP. YOUR VOICE. MAKE IT COUNT.

Sign the petition now.

Not for us. For yourself. For every member beside you. And for every member who comes after us.

If we want our voices to matter, we have to use them.

SIGN. SPEAK UP. STAND TOGETHER.

OUR MEMBERSHIP. OUR COMMUNITY. OUR VOICE.
