Putting solar arrays on every parking lot in America would accomplish several things that would help alleviate the stress climate change is causing our would.

Firstly the amount of asphalt fields in this country covered in solar panels would probably massively exceed the amount of power needed to run this country, and help us finally cut the cord of fossil fuel dependency. Obviously storage for this amount of power is something that will have to be addressed( but far easier that other solutions that have been proposed, a trillion trees?). 

Secondly this would also greatly reduce ambient heat in cities generated by the asphalt acting as a thermal heat sink.

Thirdly it would enable adding easily accessible EV charging for everyone. (Honestly I'm surprised that major EV manufacturers haven't thought of doing this for their own self interests.) If we really want to fix this we need to take actually action and make changes that actually reduce our impact on the planet!
