Another school holiday period has passed without support.

During the recent school holiday, I requested a couple of hours of support. There is currently only one family support worker in our local area. As a result, the request was circulated across the wider Trust but staff were either off on annual leave or doing supervised contact.

The last time my son received this type of support was limited provision over summer 2025. Since then, no support of that this kind has been provided and other families report similar experiences.

Previously, holiday support was delivered by family support workers during holiday periods. However some parents have understood this support to be outreach, despite the same staff providing it, which raises questions about how this provision is defined and recorded in practice.
