Tell TESC to Respect Caterpillar Inc Boycott Votes

The Issue

CAT Off Campus!

Caterpillar Inc. sells armored bulldozers to the Israel Defense Forces to conduct house demolitions and construct Jewish-only settlements as well as the apartheid West Bank barrier (wall) in the occupied Palestinian territories. Most egregiously, the house demolitions have destroyed at least 18,000 homes displacing at least 100,000 people since the 1967 occupation began. The demolitions and settlement and wall-building have all been widely condemned as forms of collective punishment and systematic discrimination against the Palestinians.

In 2010 and 2016, TESC students casted ballots overwhelmingly in favor of banning the use of Caterpillar Inc. equipment on the college campus. On both occasions the administration has refused to recognize the outcomes of student democracy. Caterpillar equipment remains on campus.

Evergreen Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), who've organized the CAT boycott, have leveled three demands on the TESC administration, which you can support by signing this petition.

SJP's demands:

1. The TESC administration must honor the votes to ban all CAT equipment on campus.

2. The TESC administration must be transparent in its contracting and bidding processes.

3. The TESC administration must publicly take action in support of Palestinian sovereignty, human rights and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
