I have not been to all Exelon Companies charging locations in the recent months but I have been to the Havre de Grace location and did notice they finally replaced the failing QC45 with a different model. It's nice that the Exelon Companies are finally listening to the EV community and using different models, it's sad they didn't listen to us at the beginning before installing any units. This is a small step and I hope they continue to move forward to strengthen their reliability and up time. Stating in the Maryland video I posted in my last update that if 1 charger or handle is down at a site was falsely reported as the site being good was alarming. I hope this petition has bought to light how bad their network actually was which was not being reported. Now that they're finally repairing some of the units I'm looking forward to better support from the Exelon companies to align with the support they give electrical customers as they stated when they started the project.

I'm hoping now that the states have pushed the Exelon companies into fixing their network issues that they're also start pushing Royal Farms to STOP giving up on their EV charging network and to actually repair or replace their chargers. Besides Tesla Super Chargers Royal Farms EV Charging network is one of the biggest if not the biggest charging network on the eastern shore of Maryland and in Delaware. EV Drivers rely on the Royal Farms network to keep them moving to the Delaware & Maryland beaches!

I'm also hoping that the states and maybe the nation with the new EV bills in the works work on forcing Electrify America and other Charging networks to stop installing single points of failure. no sites should ever just have one type of charger, one type of handle, or one of any type of handle.

In the case of EA, they are against the grain of the other major charging networks where they only install mainly 2 CCS on each station and one Chademo handle per location. this is a extremely bad move. 2 CCS connectors on each station gives the public a false sense that they have more chargers per location then they actually do since you can only use 1 connector at a time. Having 1 chademo connector at each site is a disservice to the EV Drivers with cars that have chademo plugs. EVs are known to last for several 100,000's of miles. If a chademo car pulls up to the 1 chademo handle at a EA station and it doesn't work it requires that driver to be towed to the next closest charging site. Most times the 1 chademo plug at a EA station is never tested at install time and they're only their for eye candy so they can claim compliance with the laws to have both connectors at each site. All stations and connectors need tested at install time. EA needs to install more chademo plugs. If not one at each station, at least 2 at each site for redundancy. It's sad they didn't want to install chademo since their parent company VW was only going to produce CCS cars and they saw no need to help the EV community as a whole rather only their EV customers!

The single point of failure issue is BIG! We must get away from the 1 station or 1 handle at each site approach. Honestly most DC Fast Charging sites should have at least 4 stations with each having a chademo and CCS. As for Level 2 sites that have just J1772, there should be at least 4 concurrent useable connectors per site. For combined DCFC & Level 2 sites there should be at least 2 of each handle CCS, Chademo, & J1772 for redundancy. For more rural or out of the way sites that consider DCFC only they should consider having at least 1 or 2 J1772 at the location as a backup for customers to help limp to the next site if that site's DCFCs are down.

Companies like BLINK & Chargepoint need to start taking accountability when property owners walk away from sites they've installed. The Royal Farms Chargepoint network is a BIG example. The Blink chargers at the baltimore best western at the truck stop off I95 and the arbys south of york on I83 are 2 more examples where the property owner walked away from the EV community and don't want to fix their chargers!

Any new bills for charging should have accountability and responsibility as it's top priorities along side reliability and up time.
