Nel marzo di quest’anno ricorre il decimo anniversario di una guerra che la Siria si è ritrovata a combattere contro terroristi di casa altrui, guerra che oltre ad aver portato devastazioni, saccheggi di beni primari come grano e petrolio e saccheggi archeologici ha inoltre provocato 500 mila morti, milioni di mutilati, feriti, rifugiati di guerra.

È bene inoltre ricordare che il suo presidente, i suoi militari e il suo popolo combattendo e vincendo questa guerra in casa propria si sono messi letteralmente anche a guardia dei paesi europei che sarebbero stati altrimenti travolti dal terrorismo.

Come volontari di Sol.Id, Fronte Europeo per la Siria e Comunità Siriana in Italia chiediamo quindi all’unione europea lo stop immediato all’embargo che sta dando alla Siria e al suo popolo, stremato oramai, il colpo di grazia. Chiediamo quindi che si torni immediatamente a ricucire i rapporti politici e diplomatici con la Siria e con il suo popolo.

March 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of a war that Syria is fighting against unwanted terrorists, the war, which in addition to bringing devastation, looting of primary goods such as grain and oil, archeological looting, has also caused 500 thousand deaths, millions of people wounded and refugees of war.

It is also good to remember that its president, the soldiers and the entire population, by fighting and winning this war at home, have literally also put themselves on guard of European countries that would otherwise have been overwhelmed by terrorism.

As Sol.Id, Syrian Community in Italy and European Solidarity Front for Syria’s volunteers, we therefore ask the European Union for an immediate stop to the embargo that is giving Syria and its people, now exhausted, the coup de grace. We therefore call for an immediate restoration of political and diplomatic relations with Syria and its people.
