We demand to protect land snails worldwide!

There are only few countries in Europe (Germany, Denmark, Great Britain), which listed Helix pomatia as a protected species. At first we endeavor to collect 1 million of signatures to bring this problem in front of the European Commission to force other countries to act!

There are hundreds of thousands land snails which are dying annually just because of french traditional dish escargot! We demand to stop all the restaurants to serve this meal! How many of land snails die because of human fault while crossing over them or killing them on purpose to protect their garden instead of moving them to better place to live (for example a meadow). Thousands of them are dying because of cold in winter or drying in summer.

Lifetime of the land snail can reach up to 25 years! They were evolved 286 million years ago. Land snails serve an important role in the ecosystem. They eat very low on the food web, as most land snails will consume rotting vegetation like moist leaf litter, and also fungi and sometimes eat soil directly.
