High Point University has always been an innovative and community-minded campus. We propose the establishment of a "Democracy Day" on campus, which would entail cancelling classes on election days to allow students ample time to vote. This day could not only promote voting but also include civic education activities, speeches from local people, art exhibitions, music performances and wellness events.

Studies show that voter turnout among college students is typically low due to factors such as class schedules and lack of information about candidates or issue. By implementing Democracy Day at High Point University, we can address these barriers head-on.

Furthermore, this initiative aligns with the university's values of "God, family, country". Participating in elections is an essential part of what it means to be a citizen of this country.
