Establish Scholarships for Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Survivors

Establish Scholarships for Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Survivors
The Issue
My beloved daughter Ariana was a victim of domestic violence. Her life was brutally taken in her home by a violent offender. This is a personal tragedy that will follow me forever and the harsh reality is that many young individuals face these circumstances daily and it is essential that we all take action in our communities and not turn a blind eye.
In San Mateo County, CA, there are countless survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking who have managed to break free from their tormentors. These brave individuals aspire to improve their lives through education but often lack the financial resources necessary to pursue their dreams.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence in the United States. Furthermore, The Polaris Project estimates that hundreds of thousands of people are trafficked within U.S borders each year.
The Ariana Mae Hatami Foundation propose that endowment scholarships be provided for these survivors - both college and high school students - as a way to support them on their journey towards healing and self-improvement. Education can serve as an empowering tool that helps them rebuild their lives after experiencing such traumatic events.
By signing this petition, you are advocating for these survivors' right to education and helping them move forward from their past traumas into brighter futures. Please sign this petition today; let's make a difference together!
