I am a concerned local resident who recently witnessed an 11-year-old school boy barely escape a potentially catastrophic accident. At the Spring Lane roundabout, the young boy was halfway across the road, when he was clipped by the vehicle. He was shaken but fortuntely did not sustain a severe injury. 

The roundabout lacks proper pedestrian crossing infrastructure, a shortcoming that dramatically increases the risk of accidents. 

Our roundabout at Spring Lane needs urgent evaluation and revision. A safe pedestrian crossing must be established to protect commuters, especially schoolchildren like the young boy I saw - they should not have their safety compromised.
