I am a citizen of Middletown, Delaware with 25 years of dedication to municipal and military sports administration, recreation, and college athletics recruiting. My passion for the development of youth and the therapeutic power of recreation has been the foundation for my work and higher education. Today, my fellow residents and I are asking for your support.

The ever evolving Town of Middletown, with its growing population, is sadly lacking in the resources that can boost healthy and recreational activities. Our community wants, and indeed needs, access to the amenities and facilities run by State Parks and Recreation that can enhance overall wellness and provide a venue for recreational sports for our youth. From outdoor to indoor activities, my neighbors are waiting to experience the delights and benefits available to other citizens in different areas of Delaware.

With a growth rate of 11.44% since 2010 (source: Town of Middletown 2025 Comprehensive Plan), our town is expanding fast, and it's paramount we meet this increase in population with sufficient recreational options. However, we need more than just local parks; we long for the quality and diversity of offerings found in State Parks and Recreation spaces.

We call on state and local officials to consider investing in the establishment of new State Parks and Recreation facilities in our town. This would not only support the well-being and unity of our community, but also enhance tourism, thereby benefiting our local economy.
