As passionate fans of English football and proud citizens, we still feel the exhilaration of seeing our team reach the finals. This moment marked a significant accomplishment in England’s football history, and we believe it warrants a lasting recognition. Consequently, we propose making the 15th of July a bank holiday, adding meaningful context to our national calendar as a celebration of our sporting achievements. Recognizing significant dates is common practice across the globe. In the United States, for example, they mark the Super Bowl Sunday unofficially, witnessing a considerable dip in productivity (source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Similarly, by commemorating July 15th as a bank holiday, we can unite in celebration and honor England's accomplishments in the football arena.
