Establish GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION for Artists in Ghana

Establish GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION for Artists in Ghana
The Issue
Artists in Ghana are longing to reach a wider, more global audience. These talented individuals, including musicians, painters, and craftspeople, are hindered by the lack of basic tools most of us take for granted - namely, reliable internet connection and smartphones. Online visibility, now more than ever, has become an essential aspect of successful selling. However, without relevant accessibility, numerous artists in Ghana are at a disadvantage and are struggling to market their work. Also, in an era where online shopping is growing rapidly, artists face significant challenges in enabling their art to reach potential buyers' doorsteps.
From this arises the notion of the GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION (GAA).
The vision is to pool resources together to share the cost of promoting their work globally, strategically, establishing valuable contacts, and resolving logistical hurdles collectively as a community. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that digital markets have a competitive edge with a 44% increase in e-commerce sales in 2020 (UN News).
Hence, it is critical for us, the founders of the GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION (GAA), to petition the government and relevant organizations to establish a reliable and network infrastructure through our diaspora and business connections that would empower us to reach our potential. A Website is not just a utility, as vital as water and electricity, especially for artists where digital connectivity has become an integral part of their work and to offer a digital professional gallery. This is a petition to level the playing field, to give Ghanaian artists the chance to compete globally.
Sign our petition and support the talented artists of Ghana to access a wider audience, share their unique voices, and enhance their economic sustainability.
Unfortunately, all this gives advantage to those with easy access to the Global public and affordable logistics.
Our suggestion is to form a GROUP of Artists like a *GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION*, who like to present their works to the same Global public.
This is obviously too expensive and in most cases too difficult for an individual or young artist or craft business, but as a Group, we could all share the costs, strategies, contentions, logistical problems through a defined network of our group members.
*A simple case one for ALL and ALL for one*!
What I/WE, the founders of GHANA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION (GAA), are proposing.
We want to have a collective supported Association, a formal legal entity, to help GHANA ARTISTS and Crafts
- in GHANA to be competitive in the global marketplace.
- to present online of offline exhibitions and Galleries ,GAA events or with partnerships
- to lobby Government for support and betters services
- to improve education and grass roots development in creative Arts & Crafts
- to pressure Financial institutions and NGOs to offer development funds for GAA members
- to digitize our Association's operations, our businesses, and our relationship with the world
- to develop and manage a Association website and an online shopping Gallery to benefit members
- to work towards making available soft loans which will enable indigenous artists and performers to get started
- to help bid for competitions, open Calls, grants or contracts on behalf of members (individual, group or gallery/business)
- to help introduce a degree of support through Excellent Leadership
- to introduce competitive awards and attract sponsorship schemes through collective strength.
- to host or link with regular events and exhibition not only in Ghana but also internationally
- to develop and create bonds with groups, societies and events that promote creative engagement
- to offer members discounts on group / build purchase schemes and potential share scheme on equipment
- to present a exclusive logistical support for international deliveries and payment schemes
- to offer and aid MEMBERS an online profile and promotion via its website
- To develop a network of REGIONAL and or District GAA Ambassadors that can facilitate local engagement, meetings and points of contact.
- To help protect intellectual property and copyright infringements and
- Potentially offer both insurance, financial and legal aid to subscribed members
We want to formalize and digitize our Association's operations, our businesses, and our relationship with the world and that's why we need to your help from successful individuals and businesses in GHANA.
Sign our petition and support the talented artists of Ghana to access a wider audience, share their unique voices, and enhance their economic sustainability.
