I believe in a world where all children should have basic rights to education and the tools required for it, including reading materials. This is not a utopian dream, but a necessity in our modern and globalizing world. Given that over 250 million kids around the world cannot read or write, this issue comes close to my heart. Illiteracy not only hinders personal growth and self-confidence, but it also directly impacts our societal development.

As per UNESCO, approximately 20% of all youth globally, and even 30% of youth in low-income countries, are illiterate. This issue massively limits their potential for higher education, gainful employment, and the ability to break away from the cycle of poverty.

To ensure our next generations are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, we must push for free education, supplemented with reading materials, for all children. Every child should cultivate a love for learning and access opportunities no matter their socio-economic status. Empowering children globally with literacy can contribute to reducing poverty, improving health outcomes, and promoting gender equality.
