The Quiet Zone is on the agenda for the July 15th City Council meeting/prioritization workshop (4 p.m., City Council Chamber, 200 Old Bernal Avenue).
We got to this point by persuading the Council to prioritize the Quiet Zone (QZ) in their planning, but it is not yet funded. We need our supporters to attend this next meeting and make a public comment advocating for the establishment of a Quiet Zone in Pleasanton. You could say just a few words or tell the Council how train noise negatively impacts you and your family.
The City Council is influenced by the number of residents who attend and speak at their meetings. They are influenced most strongly by new faces and new voices speaking. If you have not yet spoken if favor of a Quiet Zone, then this may be your last chance to help get it funded.
If funding is approved by a majority vote of the City Council, then the process of creating a Quiet Zone can begin.
Please attend and speak out on this issue if you possibly can fit this in your schedule.
