The Issue

Every day, the residents of Mobile, Alabama face the challenge of finding affordable spay and neuter options. Many of us want to ensure not only our beloved pets are fixed, but also the countless stray animals roaming our streets. We are weary of witnessing these animals reproduce unchecked, perpetuating a cycle of overpopulation and suffering.

The establishment of a city-based spay and neuter clinic would provide an affordable option for residents to take responsible actions. Stray animals contribute to numerous community issues, such as public health risks, increased accidents, and strain on shelters. According to the ASPCA, a single pair of cats and their offspring can produce an overwhelming 420,000 kittens in just seven years. Similarly, the unbridled breeding of dogs results in thousands of unwanted puppies.

A local facility would alleviate the financial pressure on pet owners and those compassionate residents who care for community animals. Affordable and accessible services would significantly reduce the number of stray animals, improve public safety, and reduce the burden on our local shelters.

We urge the City of Mobile to allocate funds and resources toward the development of this vital clinic. Partnering with veterinarians, non-profits, and community advocates can drive this initiative forward. Providing these essential services can transform our community into a model of compassion and responsibility.

We call upon our city leaders to take immediate action to address this pressing issue. Adding your name to this petition signifies your support for a humane solution that benefits our beloved community, saving countless lives in the process.

Please sign this petition to establish a spay and neuter clinic in Mobile, Alabama, for the betterment of our community and all its inhabitants.
