Dear Kemper County Board of Supervisors,

We, Community First of Kemper County, together with the undersigned residents of DeKalb, Scooba and other communities of Kemper County, Mississippi, are writing to express our strong support for the establishment of a county recreation department and complex in Kemper County.

We believe that investing in recreational facilities and programs is essential for: fostering a sense of community across our diverse backgrounds; promoting physical and mental well-being; and enhancing the overall quality of life for our citizens.

A county recreation department and complex in Kemper County would serve as a valuable resource for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We envision a facility that offers a wide range of amenities, including sports fields, fitness equipment, and multipurpose spaces for various recreational and community building activities. Such a complex would not only provide opportunities for organized recreational sports leagues and events but also create spaces for leisure activities and social gatherings.

We firmly believe the benefits of a recreation department and complex extend beyond the immediate impact on individual health and wellness. By investing in such a way, we can build a stronger and more connected community.
