I am a resident of San Ildefonso, Bulacan, and it has come to my attention that our town lacks the necessary facilities for mental health care. This issue is personal to me as I have noticed that many people in our community are silently suffering from mental health problems with no one to talk to or seek help from.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Yet, it seems we have overlooked this crucial aspect of healthcare in our town. The absence of a psychiatric hospital or any mental healthcare facilities nearby exacerbates the problem.

The World Health Organization reports that approximately one in four people globally will be affected by mental disorders at some point in their lives (WHO). In the Philippines specifically, there are only seven psychiatrists available per 100,000 population (Philippine Statistics Authority). These figures highlight the urgent need for accessible and quality mental healthcare services.

Our call is simple but significant: We need a psychiatric hospital within San Ildefonso, Bulacan. This facility will not only provide immediate help and support for those struggling with their mental health but also raise awareness about these issues within our community.
