Support a New Community Pharmacy at Gawain Shopping Centre

As a pharmacist with over 10 years of experience in Brisbane, I’ve seen firsthand the impact a good community pharmacy can have on people’s lives. That’s why I’m advocating for a new pharmacy at Gawain Shopping Centre—to provide greater convenience and accessibility for locals.

Currently, patients who visit the medical centre—which houses five doctors, a podiatrist, a dentist, a psychologist, and a pathology lab—must travel 1.2 km to the nearest pharmacy to have their prescriptions filled. Meanwhile, other pharmacies in town are conveniently located next to their respective medical centres.

A pharmacy within Gawain Shopping Centre would offer a much-needed service, especially for the elderly and those with mobility challenges. It would also complement the existing businesses that locals rely on daily, including a Coffee Club, hairdressers, barbers, and op shops.

This pharmacy will service those who visit their GP at Gawain Shopping Centre and live nearby, it would be a game-changer. Many people I’ve spoken with agree—it just makes sense.
