Establish a New Day – 'Frumsday' – Between Sunday and Monday

Establish a New Day – 'Frumsday' – Between Sunday and Monday
The Issue
Like most Americans, I dread the arrival of Monday. The end of the weekend brings with it a sense of desolation that no one should have to suffer week in, week out. It's a universally felt agony, but it doesn't have to be this way. We propose the creation of a 'buffer' day – a day we choose to call 'Frumsday', to exist between Sundays and Mondays. Frumsday comes from a very personal place, envisioned as a day to lessen the shock of the impending Monday and perhaps make life just a bit more bearable for us all.
The modern seven-day week has been with us since the reign of Augustus in Rome, enduring for over 2000 years. While this system has served us well, societal needs and rhythms have evolved since ancient times. According to the American Institute of Stress, 80% of workers feel stress on the job and nearly half say they need help learning how to manage stress. Perhaps an additional day of rest or a transitional day like Frumsday could contribute to reducing this stress.
The establishment of Frumsday might seem like a monumental task. However, we live in a world that is constantly reinventing itself. This means constantly questioning the systems in place and pushing the boundaries of what is possible, which is exactly what this petition represents.
The change might be radical, yet we believe it's necessary. The creation of Frumsday is not about trying to eliminate Mondays but rather about offering a moment of solace to those among us who struggle with the Monday blues.
This small change can help start the week on a less stressful note and contribute to the mental well-being of millions, perhaps even billions, around the world. It's time for 'Frumsday'. Embrace the change. Sign this petition today to take the first step towards realizing a new tomorrow.
