Four years of stress, fear, repairs, and dismissal. My minivan’s safety features glitched from day one, and with FCA/Stellantis opting out of CAMVAP, I have no help. I've had to go to the courts just to be heard, but FCA still isn't listening. Now, with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in all new vehicles and Electric Vehicles (EVs) by 2035?! we need a lemon law to make sure these systems are safe — and protect families like mine when they’re not. "No Code-No Fix" for electrical glitches needs to end.

Vehicles are becoming increasingly reliant on complex electronic systems, and despite their promise to enhance safety and driving convenience, they are not infallible. When these systems fail, vehicle owners are left vulnerable, both in terms of financial loss and personal safety. In Canada, there is currently no comprehensive legal framework to support consumers when their vehicle fails to meet quality and safety standards repeatedly soon after purchase.

In the United States, the Lemon Law serves as a critical consumer protection that provides a clear pathway for buyers to seek redress for defective vehicles. Quebec also passed a lemon law recently. We deserve the same across Canada. A national Lemon Law would hold automakers accountable for persistent production flaws and protect consumers from financial burdens resulting from a defective vehicle purchase.

We urge the Canadian government to implement a national Lemon Law to safeguard vehicle buyers. This law should ensure manufacturers deliver fully functional vehicles and provide timely and equitable remedies to those affected by defective vehicles. Our roads are safer when all vehicles are reliable.

Join us in advocating for a safer future, where buying a vehicle does not come with fear and uncertainty. Sign this petition to push for the establishment of a National Lemon Law in Canada and protect Canadian vehicle buyers from unnecessary stress and financial loss.
