Pilot Program Game Plan - Close to 500 signatures!

We are getting so close to 500 signatures. In honor of this, I have a drafted game plan to share, below.

Instead of asking the city for a massive budget, we are proposing a smart, targeted winter pilot program inspired by the highly successful, government funded model up in Fairfax County.

Here is the quick breakdown of what we are planning to pitch to City Council:

•The Ask: A one time, small scale city allocation of 15,000 dollars.
•The Timeline: December through March. We strike in the winter to stop the breeding cycle before the chaotic spring kitten season begins.
•The Impact: This micro budget will permanently sterilize, eartip, and rabies vaccinate exactly 200 community cats.
•The Strategy: We are targeting high need neighborhood hotspots to maximize shelter decompression and save taxpayer dollars.

Our Next Steps This Week:

1. Data Gathering: We are submitting an official public records request to pull the latest shelter intake stats by zip code. This gives us the exact math to prove our case.

2. The Petition: We are continuing to advertise and push our community petition to prove to city council members that local voters demand a proactive solution.

A 15,000 dollar pilot lowers the risk for the city while preventing thousands of street births. We are moving from a reactive mess to a proactive solution!
