Colchester, a vibrant city steeped in history and culture, stands at the threshold of further growth and deserves to benefit from the retail convenience other cities enjoy. As a city, it is only fitting that we have access to a Morrisons Supermarket, just like our neighbouring towns of Maldon, Witham, and Clacton.

As a resident of Colchester, I have often found myself and fellow locals traveling significant distances to shop in a Morrisons, which adds unnecessary travel time and expense to our weekly routines. This is not just a matter of convenience but also a question of economic development and accessibility for all residents.

The potential establishment of a Morrisons in Colchester is supported by substantial local backing. Recent surveys indicate that over 90 percent of residents are enthusiastic about having a Morrisons store in our city. This clear demand highlights the urgent need for a local Morrisons, which would not only support our community with varied shopping choices but also create jobs, stimulate the local economy, and provide a vital retail anchor in our city.

Morrisons is renowned for excellent service, quality products, and reasonable prices. Bringing one to Colchester would align with our community's desires and needs, offering residents a wider selection of products and fostering a sense of pride in our growing city.

It is essential for local leaders and Morrisons' management to consider this significant opportunity. We ask them to collaborate in the planning and development of a new store and put Colchester on the map for Morrisons locations.
