Establish a Large Dog Park at Newtown Barge Park

Establish a Large Dog Park at Newtown Barge Park
The Issue
My beloved dog, Ghost, along with his fellow canine friends relish their playtime in Newtown Barge Park. Unhappily, the current area allocated for dogs near Bell Slip is inadequate and poorly maintained, looking more akin to a giant litter box than the welcoming park it should be. Out of necessity, we gravitate towards the open spaces, where our dogs can safely socialize, stretch their legs and enjoy their downtime.
Unfortunately, due to incidences, residents have begun filming and complaining about pet owner activities, leaving our dogs limited space to come together, stretch their legs, and play. Our humble quest is to secure a safe, welcoming spot where Ghost and all his friends can roam freely without any inhibitions or fear of complaint.
The current situation is dire for local pet owners. American Veterinary Medical Association reports indicate that larger dogs particularly require more exercise for optimal health, and the lack of space in our existing facilities doesn't meet these needs (source: AVMA Journal).
We are appealing to the local authorities to utilize a section of Newtown Barge Park to establish a dedicated large dog park. Not only would this improve the quality of life for our four-legged friends, but it would also dispel any tension within the community and foster better relationships between all park goers, regardless of how many legs they walk on!
Stand with us for a happier, healthier Newtown Barge Park - one where our trusted companions have sufficient space to thrive. Sign the petition today!
