As a local resident and a BMX and skateboarding enthusiast, I deeply understand the need for a concrete skatepark in Meopham. Many other people, from young children to adults, share this passion in our local area. We regularly find ourselves travelling long distances just to enjoy our favourite sports, due to lack of local facilities. This is not just inconvenient but also limits our ability to engage in these activities regularly.

Through the establishment of a local concrete skatepark, we can provide a safe and accessible space for local enthusiasts to practice and enjoy their sport. Besides offering a platform for our physical activities, the skatepark can become a hub for local community interaction and engagement.

According to the Skateparks Project, there are over 1,600 skateparks in the UK, serving almost 3,000,000 skateboarders and BMX riders (source: The Skateparks Project). Yet, despite this, Meopham lacks such a facility, leaving our local community underserved.

We believe that a free, public concrete skatepark will not only cater to BMX riders and skateboarders, but be beneficial for our community as a whole. We ask the local authorities to consider this proposal that will bring about direct benefits to the health and wellbeing of our residents, providing an inclusive space for our community to engage, exercise and socialise.
