Hi everyone. Sharing an update since today marks one year since my accident. My physical therapy had to stop two months ago after insurance refused to cover more visits, and I’m still living with chronic back pain and the ongoing effects of that day. It has affected me physically and mentally, and I continue to deal with the long-term impact.
My situation is not unique and this is why the City of Phoenix must take action. Roads that are labeled as “bike routes” need clear markings, proper signage, and real safety measures. Relying on motorists to simply “share the road” is not enough. It is dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists, and is especially risky with motorists who are not familiar with the area. With the continued increase in city population, a protected turn signal on Indian School Rd and 28th St is also urgently needed to manage the heavy traffic turning and passing through the intersection just south of where the accident occurred, which is the location also near two schools.
I still need your help to get the attention of city officials. Please share this petition with others so we can push this issue in front of the people who can make real change happen. Thank you for your continued support.
